5 Things to Do Today to Eat Clean
*This image was generated by AI. Eating clean can seem daunting. There’s sooooooooooooo much info out there and it can seem like there’s a feeling of “I’m better than you” because of the kind of meat or milk one consumes. But the reality is, by cutting out ultra processed foods and focusing on whole foods, even if they aren’t the “top of the line”, your health is nearly guaranteed to improve. What’s also important to keep in mind is how this impacts your budget. What you eat

5 Ways to Prioritize Health in a Sick Culture
*This image was generated by AI This is a difficult thing to do - prioritize health in a sick culture. One of the reasons this is hard to do is because most people don’t even realize they’re in a sick culture. Toxins in our food and everyday use products, lack of sun and movement, an increase in stress, and less meaningful relationships are factors contributing to a culture that makes us sick. There are a lot of things we can do to aid in being less sick, but it can easily ge

PCOS to PMOS: Syndrome Name Change
*this image was generated with AI. I got married a couple of weeks ago…which is why there was a gap in posting and writing blogs. I mean, can you believe my mind was somewhere else other than on writing a blog post during this time?! I know. How ridiculous of me. One cool thing that happened recently though, is that scientists are changing the name of PCOS to PMOS. And to me this is a good thing. PCOS is the acronym for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. PMOS is the acronym for Polye

Why It Might Not Be Working
In the holistic health and wellness space, it can be very overwhelming to figure out where to start. It gets confusing because we have all sorts of podcasters and influencers sharing what works for them, yet, those results also seem to contradict each other. Like, someone had a horrible experience with hydroxyapatite, but another person swears by it for their toothpaste. Someone once said they eat freshly milled bread and it's life saving for them, but another person still ha

The Healing Journey is Tough
The healing journey is both physical and mental. For some of us, there’s a lot to heal. Regardless of how much we have to heal, it’s not a competition after all, we each have our own work to put in the process to heal and feel our best. The journey is full of ups and downs. Some of those will be physical and some of those will be mental, and at times it’s both. It’s like walking through a canyon and then it begins to rain, but there’s no shelter or place to take refuge. In th

Weight Loss Plateau
If you've been on a weight loss journey for a while, you've likely encountered a weight loss plateau. You reached a point where you're doing the same thing that you've been so successful with, but now it's no longer working. Honestly, it sucks. If not careful, you can easily go back to old ways because you might end up thinking "this isn't even working, so why keep going?" Uh, you need to keep going because it was and is still working! If you're not gaining weight and you're

How to Calm Your Period in the Office
Reading through the holistic advise on how to handle and calm period cramps often feels unrealistic for me. No, I cannot call out once a month so that I can stay home and take a warm bath and rest. No, ginger tea doesn't completely relax me. If only I could time my period to always start on a weekend day...*she said sarcastically*. If you haven't read my other blog posts, you may not know that I have dramatically decreased the painful cramps I experience at the start of my me

Emotional Improvement
One of the aspects of healing that I also started to focus on while starting the Carnivore Cure elimination diet is my mental health. In the wake of so much chaos in not only the United States (God bless us), but also the world, it's easy to feel a bit anxious about everything. After watching some podcasts with guest Dr. Georgia Ede, I started to shift my focus a bit from keto to heal and manage my PCOS, to keto as a way to heal and manage my mental and emotional health too.
